Is ‘America’s Got Talent’ Stepping It Up A Notch?

July 27, 2016 in Entertainment, Review, Shows, Television

America’s Got Talent has always had great talent. But, the first year was bombarded by people who thought they could do anything and get on the show. It wasn’t taken very seriously by too many people because they thought it was a variety show.

The winner gets a Vegas show is why so many people didn’t take it seriously. Try to follow me here. In Vegas, there are many great acts. There are legendary singers like Tom Jones and Wayne Newton. There are legendary acts like the Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil. That’s what a person is up against if they want to headline in Vegas.

So, most people entered the show thinking there’s no way they were going to get a real show headlining along the side of great acts like that. That’s why most people didn’t really bring their A Game. Besides the fact that there were some real goofballs who just wanted to have fun and get their few seconds of attention. That happens in shows like this.

But now, it seems like it’s a whole different story. The show has evolved into a much higher level of act. Of course, there are still some goofballs. The show wouldn’t be any fun without them. But, there is another level of act that is making it happen in 2016.

Check Out Jon Dorenbos

He took up magic to get over the death of his mother. The thing about him is he has a whole other career. He plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.

How About This Little Voice?

Jayna Brown and Jon Dorenbos merely scratch the surface. America’s Got Talent has definitely taken it up a notch and I can’t wait to watch the rest of this season to see what they come up with next.

David Garibaldi Still Amazing AGT

July 10, 2012 in Entertainment

David Garibaldi and His CMYKsDavid Garibaldi does some amazing work. But, he’s pulling out new tricks. I have not seen this stuff before. The audition below is phenomenal and I love how it ends.

I know one one thing that he’s going to do that will literally knock everyone’s socks off their feet. But, I’m not sure when he’s going to do it. I’ve been patiently waiting for it. I know he’s trying to save it for last. But, he should be pulling it out soon.

I Believe They’ve Gone Mad at America’s Got Talent

July 6, 2011 in Celebrities, Entertainment, Television

What could possibly possess the judges at America’s Got Talent to put Anna Graceman on some kind of standby while four girls passed through to an audition and absolutely blew it? A close up card illusionist made it through. A Jack Russell that pushes a shopping cart, but can’t jump rope made it through.

A parrot that won’t say anything right auditioned on stage in front of the judges.  But, Anna Graceman didn’t!  Poplyfe made it though and they deserved to be there.  They even proved it with their awesome rendition of Cee Lo’s Forget You!

But if anything is speaking volumes to me right now, it’s the story of Danni.  She blew it with her own original song and was asked back to sing a song the judges knew.  She was the only one in the female singer category to get sent through to Hollywood.  So if that says anything to me, then I know what’s going on at AGT.  They’ll put Anna through!

But, first watch this:

Learn these names:

Dylan Wiggins, Denzel Merrit, Kehlani Parrish, Jaden Wiggins, Nadji Jeter, Ali-Kahn Lochin, Renzel Merrit, Dillon Ingram

By the way, another stellar audition!

A Little Girl With An Old Soul In Her Voice

June 23, 2011 in Celebrities, Entertainment, kids, Television

I think I’ve met my choice for American’s Got Talent this year.  If you remember, last year I picked Jackie and she went to the end.  That little girl belted out the Opera and I melted.  I absolutely adored her.

I’m pretty sure I’ve got my pick this year.  Sharon Osbourne said it best when she said that Anna was, “…a little girl with an old soul in her voice.”  I absolutely agree!

If you haven’t seen Anna Graceman sing, you should treat yourself. Oh, don’t bother.  I’ve got it right here.  Check her out and get on board!

AGT Best Audition So Far

June 15, 2011 in Celebrities, Entertainment, Television

There have been some really great auditions this year at America’s Got Talent.  But, I just can’t get one particular audition out of my mind. I wasn’t really paying attention at first because sometimes that’s what I do.

I mentally turn off the show until they get on stage.  Then, I tune in 100%. But, I think I was interested in Poplyfe before they got on stage. The diversity of kids in the group is amazing and I was drawn to them right off the bat.

Of course, Poplyfe was awesome.  But, I would have to go with this lady as my second favorite audition.

I Was Right About Jackie Evancho

September 8, 2010 in Entertainment

The last one to go through tonight was Fighting Gravity.  I chose Michael Grasso over him last night because I thought their show was not as good as his.  But of my top five selections, four of them made it.

Just remember, the one who will win will be Jackie Evancho.  Listen to her and tell me if you don’t think so as well:

Jackie Evancho Goes Through on America’s Got Talent

September 8, 2010 in Entertainment

I really did feel bad for Anna and Patryk when they were announced to go up against Jackie Evancho.  She’s my pick.

Anna and Patryk will go on to do great things in life.  But, this is Jackie’s moment!  She’s a perfect angel with a voice directly from divinity.  How in the world can she lose?

No Idea What’s Up With This One At America’s Got Talent

September 8, 2010 in Entertainment

Two talents I didn’t expect to see go through.  Christina and Ali up against Jeremy VanSchoonHoven…which one goes through.

Neither of them.  I was starting to think that out of the two, Christina and Ali would go through.  But, America’s Got Talent pulled one of their tricks.  Neither went through.

Good luck to both of them!

Michael Grimm Was A No-Brainer

September 8, 2010 in Entertainment

Michael Grimm against Taylor Matthews is a no-brainer.  I don’t think that anyone can vote Michael Grimm’s awesome performance out over Taylor Matthews.

Taylor’s awkward rendition of What a Wonderful World has no chance to beat the soul of Michael Grimm.  He was a choice of mine by the way.  I don’t feel that I am going to be surprised by the rest of the night.

America’s Got Talent Throws Me a Curve Right Off the Bat!

September 8, 2010 in Entertainment

When Michael Grasso and Prince Poppycock were called out first, I thought that I had made a wrong call last night.  I didn’t expect two of my picks to be on the stage first.

Prince Poppycock moved forward.  I was shocked for Michael Grasso though.  If anyone deserves a Vegas show, it’s him.  But, that’s America’s Got Talent.

It’s just phenomenal.  And that means that the rest of my picks just might go forward.

Who Wins America’s Got Talent

September 7, 2010 in Celebrities, Entertainment, kids

No. I don’t have the inside scoop.  But, I know.  It’s one of those times when I just know.

But first, let’s cover the four top talents who will go on to next week.  I’m torn between five.  But, I know who wins.

One, Fighting Gravity and Michael Grasso are Las Vegas acts all the way.  Fighting Gravity can be compared to the Blue Man Group while Michael Grasso could be up with Criss Angel.

Two, Prince Poppycock could make his own show about anything at all he wanted.  He could do a show as awesome as Pink Floyd or Queen.

Three, Michael Grimm has to make it into the top four.  His soul voice tonight was exactly like the real thing.  Not a note out of tune.  They were all there.

image But, the one who wins is Jackie Evancho.  It’s hands down.  If it were about talent and not votes, she would win without a fight.  She has the best talent of all of them.  She is not even rough around the edges.  She’s polished and the fact that she’s ten just makes it even more phenomenal.  When she opens her mouth and this full grown adult’s voice comes out, it’s the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

So, those are my top five who will make it in the top four.  If I were to really narrow it down, I could take Fighting Gravity out of the running.  But, that’s only because I didn’t think their show tonight was as good as the others they’ve performed.

But, don’t worry about who is going to win.  It’s Jackie.  Besides, I want to be a part of making Piers Morgan’s dream come true.

Jackie Evancho is the ONE to Watch

August 18, 2010 in Celebrities, Entertainment, kids, Music, Television

It is phenomenal to watch such a young lady with such a mature voice.  It’s hers and you will be amazed.
