Saints come out firing.  Drew Brees put it up like it was nothing to Henderson.  I liked his statement.  I’m glad we were able to drive through and get the TD.  An opening drive sets the tone.  I just hope we can keep up the momentum.

But, Oakland answers with a TD of their own.  Yes, it’s too early in the game to have this conversation.  And yes again, my Saints are a fourth quarter team.  But, this is gut check time. Are we going to stay in there or will Oakland run away?

Too early to tell.  But, these are the things I always worry about with my Saints.  I can’t just enjoy the game, and the Saints don’t make it easy for me either.  They always jerk me around with their slack beginnings and then on-fire endings.  One day, my heart is going to be too old for this crap.

But, going into the half 17-10 helps. That sets me at ease even though it’s far from calling the game over. And then, Oakland comes back out after the half with no bull shit.  They score a TD in a few plays to tie it. Then, they get a field goal not too long after that to pull into the lead.

Little did they know, that would be the end of their day. Ok, so it looks like we have another solid team this year. We take this game 40-20 without a problem.  But, it’s only preseason.
